What a category promises

A weight category groups yarns by approximate thickness. It says nothing about fiber, twist, or how the fabric behaves after washing.

What it leaves out

Gauge is measured, not printed from a category. Two worsted yarns can differ by several stitches over four inches.

Why the calculator stops here

Skeinote gives a yardage-equivalent count and the makers' printed gauge. Whether the fabric will match is a swatch question, and the result says so every time.
